Ghost Whisperer Season 1, ep. 11

It's hard to believe my first post is going to be about Ghost Whisperer. I only recently started to watch it because my sister is a fan. And I can tell why; it's really her kind of show. Not exactly my kind of show.

Sure, the supernatural aspect, the ghosts and all that is right up my alley. And I LOVE Jennifer Love Hewitt. I've loved her since Munchie, which is a really bad, really cheesy movie she was in back when she called herself Love Hewitt.

The show is very mushy or tear-jerky, depending on your point of view. Every episode, and so far, 11 episodes in, it's very episodic, someone who is dead needs to find their family or their loved ones who are still alive, fix some new problem and move on, both the dead and the living. Not a bad premise, though when even the murderer killed in a car accident supposedly on the way to murder his wife just wants to ask for forgiveness...well so far there's not a lot of depth.
It's sweet and sometimes moving and it makes you love your family or think about the importance of remaining close with the people you love, which is great if that's what you are into. I don't need that even as much as once a week...but apparently the series gets better.

What is awesome is what Melinda Gordon (Hewitt) wears every episode. Her antiquey classiness and flowy gowns are amazing. I would love to have her dresser pick out my outfits every day...and do my hair. And we're talking about season 1, which was some time ago.

That is my opinion of Ghost Whisperer so far. If you like shows that are sad (cause someone is always dead), but about being close as a family and what makes people good friends or lovers, then you should definately check it out.

Your opinions?

And so it begins

I have been thinking of starting a blog for some time now, talking about all the tv shows I watch and what I think about them. Perhaps, having just seen Julie and Julia, I was inspired to blog or perhaps I considered how many hours a week I spend watching television and decided I wanted to do more.

I do watch a lot of television. Let's see if I can list the shows I already watch faithfully:

True Blood; Mad Men; Eureka; Warehouse 13; Supernatural; Fringe; Bones; Castle; The Mentalist; Dollhouse; Dexter; Chuck.

Then add all the shows that I've previously watched and will likely watch again (Stargate SG1 and Atlantis; Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Highlander; Battlestar Galactica; Firefly, etc), the shows I watch sporadically (House; Ghost Whisperer; Grey's Anatomy, etc), and the shows that I am excited about beginning this season (Stargate Universe; Eastwick; Flash Forward; White Collar; V, etc), and you'll realize that's a lot of television.

So join me for my thoughts on the shows you love, you hate or you don't know anything about. I'll post on every tv show I watch from now on (possibly individually, possible in short groupings), and sometimes I'll talk about books and movies and even plays that I've seen too.

So welcome! Hope you are interested in what I have to say.
